Add water to sugar and boil until syrup thickens to sticky consistency

Add rose water/ essence and set aside

Meanwhile cut off the crusts from the bread slices. You can use crusts for making croutons another time

Put bread slices in bowl add milk a tablespoon at a time and knead to form soft dough

Pinch and form round balls from the bread dough until finished

Heat oil and deep fry bread gulab jamun until golden brown

Immediately add the gulab jamuns in the sugar syrup and simmer for 3 minutes

Turn off the heat and let the gulab jamuns soak the sugar syrup for 5-6 hours or overnight

Serve as a dessert
