Basically you just combine those two and fry it (you can also steam it). I once had a delicious tahu bakso in another city and I wanted some, but couldn't find a similar one in my city. I use Indonesian tofu but you can use any firm tofu. Just adjust the size to your liking.

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 8tofu blocks, cut into triangles
  2. 250 grground beef
  3. 3-4 tbspkatakuriko (or cornflour)
  4. 1 tspgrated onion
  5. 2 tspgrated garlic
  6. 1 tspsalt
  7. to tasteCrushed black pepper
  8. 1egg
  9. Oil for frying

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

I use Indonesian tofu. It's sometimes soaked in turmeric so the color is yellow. I think this one is tastier, but you can use any kind of firm tofu. Pat dry the tofu with tissue paper or towel.

  2. 2

Slice the tofu into triangles. Adjust the size to your preference.

  3. 3

Carefully make a hole in the tofu.

  4. 4

In the mean time, mix ground beef and other ingredients (except oil) and knead it for a couple of minutes. Add the small part of tofu from step 3 into this and mix well.

  5. 5

Take some meat mixture and carefully insert some to the tofu, making sure the meat is firm enough.

  6. 6

Fry in hot oil and flip after the tofu has turned golden brown. Traditionally, we eat this with bird's eye chili but this time I used a mixture of mayo, hot sauce, a bit sugar, and lime.
