Finely chop garlic and onions.

Grind tomatoes, ginger and green chilli.

Heat mustard oil in a cooker and heat till burning hot. Switch off gas and let it cool a bit.

Now again switch on your flame. Add cumin seeds and garlic and roast till golden brown. Add chopped onions and saute till it changes colour to pink. Add red chilli powder, salt and turmeric powder and mix well. Now add green chilli and tomato paste and saute it till it leaves oil on sides.

Now add masoor daal and water and mix well. Cover the cooker with lid and let it whistle for two times.

Now open cooker after the steam is finished. Garnish with green coriander leaves.
