Beetroot Upma is a very easy-to-prepare delicious recipe. Beetroot not only makes this upma super healthy but it also renders a beautiful colour which makes the kids more tempted to have it. Moreover, served with an exquisite shape it is loved by the kids as well as the elders.

Heat a pan and dry roast the suji for 2 minutes. Keep it aside.

Heat oil in a kadhai. Add panch phutan, onion, green chilli, ginger, curry leaves and saute for 30 seconds.

Add beetroot, salt, turmeric powder and fry it for 1 minute. Add water and cover it.

When water starts boiling, add suji slowly and cook till water is absorbed. Reduce the flame and add ghee. Mix it well and turn off the flame.

Pour the upma onto a greased plate and spread it all over gently with equal pressure. Cut it with the help of a cutter mould for an appealing shape.

Now serve it with curd, coconut chutney, sambar or anything of your choice.
