Ingredients

45 minutes
4 servings
  1. 1.1 poundsfettuccine or your favorite fresh pasta
  2. 14 ouncesfrozen shrimp
  3. 1medium onion
  4. 3 clovesgarlic
  5. 3ripe tomatoes or a 14-ounce can of diced tomatoes
  6. 1chili pepper or cayenne
  7. 3/4 cupheavy cream (200 ml)
  8. 8.8 ouncestomato sauce
  9. 1 1/2 tablespoonsketchup
  10. Oregano, basil, black pepper
  11. Grated Parmesan cheese or pasta cheese

Steps

  1. 1

    Chop the onion and garlic cloves and sauté them over low heat until the onion is soft. Add the cayenne and shrimp, sauté a little, and add the herbs. The shrimp should not be fully cooked as they will finish cooking later.

  2. 2

    In a bowl, mix the cream, tomato sauce, and ketchup, add it to the shrimp, and let it reduce over low heat until it thickens.

  3. 3

    While the sauce is thickening, peel the tomatoes, dice them, and add them to the sauce. Let it cook with the sauce for a couple of minutes. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions, then drain it and it's ready to serve. Add the sauce and sprinkle with grated cheese.
