Cooking Instructions
- 1
Break your eggs into a bowl. Add the milk and the salt and pepper to taste. Whisk with a fork until well blended. (It should all be a solid yellow color) Slice your cheese thinly or grate. Preheat a 10 in skillet on medium-low heat with your vegetable oil. (There should be just enough oil to completely cover the entire bottom of the pan)
- 2
Pour your egg mixture into preheated skillet. Careful not to have the heat too high, you don't want it cooking too fast. While the eggs cook, break any air bubbles that form with your spatula and move the runny uncooked parts of the egg over the cooked parts by rocking the pan gently. The only time you should be touching the egg with the spatula at this point is to pop the air bubbles.
- 3
The egg is ready when it's cooked through and the only runny part left is in the middle and will no longer move.
REMOVE FROM HEAT.Now you will add whatever ingredients you want. Any meats you may want to add you should have already cooked before they go on the egg. (Don't go ape spit with ingredients, too much and it won't turn out right)
The cooked egg will be a flat circle covering the pan. Your ingredients will go on 1 half of the circle. Load up that half leaving about a half inch of egg showing on the edge.
- 4
The half of the egg with no ingredients gets folded over the half with the ingredients. Now it will be the shape of a taco. RETURN TO HEAT.
Keep the curved part of the omelette against the side of the pan. Slide it around a little. You're trying to cook the edges of the omelette together a little bit. - 5
Now you're gonna have to flip it. This is the part that can ruin the whole thing so BE careful not to break it or let it open up! This is why you can't overload ingredients, because of this step. If you need to use a second spatula to flip it properly, go for it. Whatever you need to do to keep the structural integrity intact.
Your only keeping it on heat after folding to heat it through, melt cheese and seal the edge. So maybe 2-3 minutes on each side.
- 6
Ok. Slide it out of the pan into a plate and your ready. Again, be careful not to break it. I garnished mine with a little basil. I also like some chopped green onion or even some oregano. Goes well with an omelette for some reason.
Now, if you're like me you'll drown it in hot sauce and enjoy!

The Basic Omelet The Basic Omelet
I love eggs. But I’m really weird about them. I don’t like them browned at all. Makes them smell like burnt hair. This one actually has a hint of brown on it🤢😂 If I see someone scrambling eggs, and it’s stuck to the sides, I want to run gagging and screaming. What a stinking waste…literally. So my suggestion is LOWER HEAT. Less is more in the egg realm. Weirdly, I only like American cheese in my omelette or scrambled eggs. I’m not very cultured😂😂🩷 this is nothing really but to know how to make a good egg is priceless. SherryRandall: The Leftover Chronicles -

Omelette Frittata Omelette Frittata
I made this delicious Omelette Frittata because both my husband and I absolutely love it. I wanted to make something that didn’t need to much time in the kitchen, because I have also been working on some other small projects that I needed to finish asap. This is a pretty simple recipe with a variety of delicious ingredients that can be put together rather quickly, so if your in a rush try out this Frittata. 🙂When we first moved to NL I was shocked that ovens are quite small……I mean microwave small!! so as a cook this completely blew me away, and I have to admit baking is surely a huge challenge for me. If your oven is large enough then just add the eggs into the mixture and then straight into your oven. If not then do what I do toss the ready made ingredients from the skillet into a oil brushed baking pan and then add the eggs. This is a bit of extra work but at the end it is all worth it. 🙂Who knows maybe someday I will be able to afford a nice size oven, I will keep hoping 🙂 Foodzesty -
An Omelette to Satisfying Both Body and Soul! An Omelette to Satisfying Both Body and Soul!
I added mozzarella cheese to the omelette that my mother used to make when I was a child. Now it's truly a substantial dish that will satisfy anyone.Sauté bacon and onion slowly to bring out the sweetness and flavour.Turn off the heat immediately after the eggs are soft cooked, as it will continue to cook in residual heat. The use of kitchen paper to steam while forming into a shape helps to make the omelette nice and fluffy. Recipe by 1646 cookpad.japan -
