Ingredients

  • 500 gmspeeled and grated yam (suran)
  • 2medium potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 1/8 cupcrushed peanuts
  • 1 tspgreen chilli paste
  • to tastesalt
  • 2 tsppowdered sugar
  • 2-3 dropslemon juice
  • 1 pinchasafoetida (hing)
  • For cookingoil

Steps

  1. 1

    Combine the potatoes and yam in a deep bowl and mix well.

  2. 2

    Add the green chilli paste and salt and mix well. Keep aside.
    Heat the oil in non stick pan, add the asafoetida and yam and aloo mixture.

  3. 3

    Cover and cook on slow flame for 3-4 minutes, while stirring once or twice in between.
    Add the peanuts and mix well.

  4. 4

    Cover and cook on a slow flame for more 4-5 minutes or till the suran and aloo becomes soft and tender. Stir in between twice or thrice at regular interval.

  5. 5

    Add the powdered sugar and lemon juice, mix well.
    Serve hot with Chapati or can be eaten with rice.
