The original recipe uses tuna machaca, but we’ll make it with oats instead.

Stir the oats constantly in a skillet until they are lightly toasted.

When the oats feel lighter and turn golden brown, remove from heat and set aside.

Machaca preparation:
Finely chop the onion. - 4
Finely chop the garlic and peppers.

Remove the seeds from the tomatoes and dice them.

Add the oats.

Sauté half of the chopped onion in a little oil, then add the garlic and peppers. Cook until lightly browned.

Add the tomatoes and cook until they change color.

Add the oats and mix everything together.

In another skillet, heat a little oil and add the remaining onion. Sauté until golden, then add the refried beans.

Warm the tortillas and assemble the tacos.
