Ingredients

10 servings
  • 1 kgselfraising flour
  • 3eggs
  • 11/2 cupsmilk
  • 3 tblsblueband
  • 5 tblssugar
  • 1 tblscardamom
  • 1 tblslemon rind

Steps

    Sieve the flour in a bowl and add in all the dry ingredients and mix using your hands.

  2. 2

    Add in the blueband and mix while rubbingthe flour through your fingers until it looks like wet sand.

  3. 3

    In a bowl beat the eggs and add in milk and mix.

  4. 4

    Dig a well in the dough then pour in your egg and milk mixture bit by bit as you kneed.

  5. 5

    Kneed the dough until it's soft and not sticky.

  6. 6

    Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rest for 20 minutes.

  7. 7

    After 20 minutes heat your cooking oil.

  8. 8

    While the oil is heating up transfer your dough on a working surface, speed and start cutting the doughnut shapes while setting aside ready for deep-frying.

    Cut the shapes using a glass and a bottle.

    By now the oil is ready and we can start frying, fry them until they are golden brown. Repeat the process until all the dough is finished.

    Once done serve with a cup of hot spiced tea or a cold drink. Enjoy 😋😋
