Ingredients

  • 2 sticksbutter
  • 2 cBetty Crocker yellow cake mix- must be Betty Crocker
  • 3/4 cwhite sugar
  • 1egg yolk
  • 1egg white, stiffly beaten
  • Chopped nuts, almonds/pecans/etc (optional)

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 250

  2. 2

    Mix sugar and flour, then rub in butter (pinching butter into flour and sugar mixture). Add egg yolk and work some more.

  3. 3

    Pour into 9x13” pan lined with foil. Don’t grease.

  4. 4

    Spread on egg white and sprinkle with chopped nuts.

  5. 5

    Bake at 250 degrees for 50 minutes.

  6. 6

    Cool, then cut into squares.
