We bought a Mellerware #bread maker on OLX for a bargain. This the first recipe I tested in it. This recipe can be made in the oven as well. Ingredients

1 loaf 900g
  • 375 mlwater, warm
  • 7.5 mlyeast, instant
  • 60 mlsugar, brown
  • 10 mlsalt
  • 45 mloil, cooking
  • 45 mlmilk powder
  • 1 lflour, nutty wheat (Snowflake) - 500g

Steps

  1. 1

    In a bowl, mix yeast and warm water together

  2. 2

    Add sugar, salt, oil, milk powder and half of the flour. Beat together and add rest of flour until it forms a soft dough

  3. 3

    Turn onto a floured surface and knead dough until smooth and elastic. Should bounce back when you make a finger indentation. This can be done with a mixer and dough hook

  4. 4

    Place in bowl and cover with samp cloth. Place in warm place and let rise until double in size (approximately 1 hour)

  5. 5

    Punch dough down. Place in greased loaf tin. Cover and let rise until doubled (approximately 30 minutes).

  6. 6

    Bake bread for 30-35 minutes in a 190°C oven - should be golden brown and sound hollow when tapped

  7. 7

    Remove from pan and cool on wire racks

I bake this today unfortunately my bread did not rise.
Why could this be my yeast expirees date only march 2021 .
Please let me know what the cause could have been.Thanks
