In a pressure cooker add oil and then jeera. Then after 5 sec add chopped onion,tomatoes and saute.

Then add the masalas.and add chana dal. Saute it.and add salt.

Then pack the pressure cooker till 2 whistle's.

For tarka take ghee or oil then add jeera and kashmiri lal mirch powder.and roast it then add the mixture in the chana dal.and again pack the cooker for 3-4 min.
