Ingredients

  1. 1 medium size purple yam (kand)
  2. 1/2 cuppeeled pigeon peas
  3. 1/2 cuppeeled green peas
  4. 1/4 th cup freshly grated coconut
  5. 1 tspwhite sesame seeds
  6. 1/2 tspginger paste
  7. 2 tbspgreen garlic paste
  8. 1 tspgreen chilli paste
  9. 1/2 cupfinely chopped coriander
  10. 1 tbspsalt
  11. 1 tspoil

Steps

  1. 1

    Peel the purple yam, & cut them in thick slices, then spread little oil on them & sprinkle salt on them & keep them aside.

  2. 2

    In a idli steamer, heat 3 glasses of water, keep a stand in the bottom of the vessel, cover it & preheat the steamer for 10minutes.

  3. 3

    Crush green peas & pigeon peas & take them in a bowl, add green garlic paste, ginger paste, green chilli paste, fresh coconut, salt and mix it well.

  4. 4

    Now stuff this stuffing between two slices of purple yam & steam it on medium to high heat for 15minutes.

    After 15-20minutes remove the steamed purple yam outside, drizzle little oil on it, sprinkle white sesame seeds, chopped coriander, fresh coconut & serve hot.
