Ingredients

4 servings
  • 1 bunchmethi/fenugreek leaves
  • 1 cupmatar/green peas
  • 1/2 cupAmul fresh cream
  • 1onion
  • 1 inchginger
  • 10 clovesgarlic
  • 2green cardamom
  • 2cloves
  • 1small cinnamon
  • 5peppercorns
  • 10cashews
  • 1 tsppoppy seeds
  • 1/2 tspgaram masala
  • 1 tspsugar
  • 1/2 tspSalt
  • 2 tbspRefined oil

  1. 1

    Remove the methi leaves from the stems. Clean and wash properly. Put in boiling water for 5 mins. Remove the leaves in a bowl of cold water. Now squeeze away excess water and chop the leaves and keep aside.

    Boil green peas and keep aside

    Heat 1tbsp oil in a kadhai/pan. Add the whole garam masalas (green cardamom, cloves, cinnamon and peppercorns). Then add sliced onion. Saute for 2mins. Then add the ginger and garlic. Stir. Then add cashews and poppy seeds. Mix well. Remove from flame and let it cool. Add 1tbsp milk and grind to a fine paste. Keep aside

    Now heat 1tbsp oil in a kadhai. Add the paste. Mix well. Then add the chopped methi leaves. Mix well. Then add the boiled peas and salt and sugar and garam masal. Keep stirring till everything is mixed properly. Cook for 5 mins. Add cream and turn off the flame. Mix well and serve hot with naan or paratha
