Hummus, Mediterranean blend

I found this recipe and it is perfect. It may be a little spicy for some, but with good homemade pita bread, there's no way you can go wrong.
Hummus, Mediterranean blend
I found this recipe and it is perfect. It may be a little spicy for some, but with good homemade pita bread, there's no way you can go wrong.
Steps
- 1
In a saucepan, bring the garbanzo beans to a boil and turn off the heat.
- 2
Strain the garbanzo beans.
- 3
(Optional step) while in a strainer/colander, run cool water over the chickpeas. Rub them between your fingers to remove the shell. Doing this changes the texture to make the hummus a bit smoother. (I do this, and though it does take a bit more time, I prefer the texture.)
- 4
Add all the ingredients to a food processor or blender. (If putting in chickpea juice, use a small amount at a 1:1 ratio with olive oil).
- 5
Blend together until smooth throughout.
- 6
Place in a bowl. Cover and place in refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- 7
When removing it, you may drizzle on olive oil and sprinkle paprika.
- 8
Enjoy!
