Soak all the three items i.e. rice, urad dal and fenugreek seeds individually for 7-8 hours.

Wash them well and grind them together to a slightly course batter. Set the batter aside for 8 hours to ferment.

Add one and half tsp salt to the batter and mix well.

Now grease the thatte idli plate with oil. Scoop the batter into idli plate.

Arrange the idli plate into the stand and cover.

Steam for 20 minutes on medium flame or till a tooth pick inserted comes out clean.

Remove the idli stand and leave it for 2-3 minutes to cool down. With the help of a spoon remove the idlies to a plate.

Serve the delicious thatte idli with chutney or sambar.
