Steps
- 1
Soak urad dal and rice separately for approximately 4 hours.
- 2
Then grind them separately and mix the urad dal paste with your hand to make the chakuli too soft.
- 3
Then mix both the paste together and add salt into it. Mix it well and cover it for 1 hour.
- 4
In the meantime prepare the tampering materials.
- 5
Heat a kadai and put oil in it. Then add the punch photon in it.
- 6
When the mustard in the punch photon crackle then add the chopped onion along with red and green chillies and curry leaves.
- 7
Saute it for sometime till the onions become golden brown in colour.
- 8
Then switch off the flame and keep them aside.
- 9
Heat a tawa and grease oil in it and put a ladle full of batter in it and make the chakuli and then add the tampering onions in it.
- 10
After cooking in one side flip it to the other side carefully.
- 11
When both the sides cooked completely then switch off the flame.
- 12
Now your baghara chakuli is ready to serve. Serve hot with any ketchup or chutney.
