  • 2 lbpork belly
  • 2 tablespoonspepper
  • 2 tablespoonssalt
  • 2 tablespoonsgarlic
  • 1 tablespooncumin
  • 1 cupshaved daikon radish
  • 1 cupcarrots
  • 3/4 cuprice wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoonssugar
  • 3 tablespoonssesame oil
  • 1/2 cupshaved onions
  • 1 bunchchopped cilantro
  • 4steamed buns

    Apply the dry rub of garlic, salt, pepper, and cumin to the pork belly. Let is marinate for 6-24 hours.

  2. 2

    Toss shaved daikon radish, carrots with vinegar, sugar, and sesame oil. The slaw should sit for at least 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Roast the pork belly on high at 450 for 30 minutes then turn down oven to 250 for 2-3 hours.

  4. 4

    Prepare steamed buns.

  5. 5

    Slice the pork belly. Place in steamed bun, top with slaw, onions & cilantro.

This exquisite dish looks so delicious. However it is difficult to keep the pork belly to be tender after roasting. Once I tried to use Flodins pork belly to make the Siu Yuk Bao, I appeared the pork belly was so succulent!
