Steps

Wash and soak dal and rice separately for around 30minutes.

Now put dal and rice in a pressure cooker, add salt and water as needed.

Now pressure cook for around 2 whistles.

For Tadka-- take a pan, add ghee to it, add hing and jeera and dried red chilli. When it splutter add onions, ginger. Cook and pour over the khichdi.

Add ghee on it and serve with papad and curd and salad.
