Homemade Applesauce

I live so far away from home and wanted to recreate this snack from my childhood!

Ingredients

  1. 7-9apples (Gala or Golden Delicious)
  2. 1cinnamon stick
  3. 1-2 tbspbrown sugar
  4. 1 1/2 cupswater

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Rinse and peel skin off of all the apples.

  2. 2

    Cut them into cubes and place in a pot.

  3. 3

    Insert cinnamon stick in the middle of the apples.

  4. 4

    Sprinkle apples with brown sugar. Adjust sugar to your taste.

  5. 5

    Add water, cover pot, and cook on low heat for 30 minutes.

  6. 6

    Uncover, remove cinnamon stick and smash apples until most lumps are smoothed. Enjoy right away or refrigerate for later! Can be used as crepe fillings or pancake/waffle topping!
