Looking for a recipe to use up surplus milk and I found this one from Andrea thepetitcook. In the pictures I have tripled the quantities but the cooking time is at least twice as long if you do this.

Looking for a recipe to use up surplus milk and I found this one from Andrea thepetitcook. In the pictures I have tripled the quantities but the cooking time is at least twice as long if you do this.

Add milk and sugar to pan and heat on low-medium heat to a near simmer.

Stir liquid to ensure sugar is dissolved. Then add baking soda and stir again whilst it briefly bubbles.

Keep on low heat for 2 hrs stirring every 10min
- 4
When mixture starts to turn brown reduce heat to minimum and stir continuously until a deep caramel colour is reached. It should become thick and viscous.
