Savory Pie/ Quiche Lorraine

"This is so delicious!" Quiche Lorraine is a type of savory pastry from France that is rich in cheese flavor. It usually contains spinach, button mushrooms, and smoked meat, but this time I will share a recipe with easy-to-find and economical ingredients. I adapted the filling from a recipe by @rickeindriani_ordinarykitchen with a few modifications, but it's still delicious. The crust follows a recipe I've made often... ♡♡♡

Steps
- 1
Grate the carrots with a cheese grater, slice the green beans thinly, chop the steamed potatoes, and slice the sausages thinly. Set aside.
- 2
Mix the flour, margarine or butter, salt, and egg. Knead briefly and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- 3
Prepare the liquid mixture. Combine the milk, grated cheese, egg, salt, and ground pepper. Stir and set aside.
- 4
Melt the margarine, sauté the garlic and onion until soft and fragrant.
- 5
Add the carrots, green beans, potatoes, and sausages. Stir well, add salt, ground pepper, and ground nutmeg. Cook until done.
- 6
Shape the pie dough into 16 pieces, each with a diameter of 2 1/3 inches and a height of 3/4 inch. Prick the base with a fork. Bake for about 10 minutes at medium heat (adjust to your oven's temperature).
- 7
Place the vegetable and sausage mixture into the pie crust, then pour the liquid mixture over it.
- 8
Fill it up like this. Top with chopped celery, then sprinkle with chili powder or paprika. It's okay if the milk spills a little, just not too much, as the wet pie crust will look beautiful once baked. Clean with a brush, then bake at medium heat until golden brown.
- 9
Remove from the oven, let cool, then take out of the mold.
- 10
Serve with chili sauce for extra flavor. Enjoy trying it out!
