Ingredients

  1. 1 bowlmoong dal(soaked in water)
  2. 1/2 tbspsaunf
  3. 1 pinchasafoetida
  4. to tastesalt
  5. 100 mlcooking oil
  6. 1 tbspcumin seeds
  7. 2 tbspmustard seeds(grinded)
  8. Somecoriander leaves to garnish

Cooking Instructions

    Grind soaked dal,salt,saunf and asafoetida and make a paste of it.

    Now make small vadas of the paste and deep fry it in oil in kadhai.

  3. 3

    Soak the fried vadas in cold water.

  4. 4

    Add some salt to the vada and water mixture.

  5. 5

    Take a small kadhai.Heat oil and add cumin seeds to it.when both get cooked then pour it in the soaked vadas.

    Now add the grinded mustard seeds in the soaked vadas.Cover it and leave it overnight.

  7. 7

    Your kanji vada would be ready the next day.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it.
