Ingredients

  1. 2 cupchana dal or Bengal gram
  2. 1big onion chopped
  3. 1green chili chopped
  4. 1tomato chopped
  5. 1 tablespoonginger garlic estimated grated
  6. 1 tablespoonsalt
  7. 1 tablespoongaram masala
  8. Halfteaspoon black pepper powder
  9. 1 teaspooncumin seeds
  10. 1 teaspoonblack mustard seeds
  11. 2-3red hot peppers
  12. 1 teaspoonturmeric
  13. 1 teaspooncumin powder
  14. PinchASAFETIDA

Cooking Instructions

    Soak the lentil for 2 to 3 hours.i always recommend soaking bcuz it save fuel

    Now in a pressure cooker have 3 whistles

  3. 3

    Now for tadka,roast cumin seeds,red hot pepper and black mustard seeds together

  4. 4

    Add chopped onion and green chilli

  5. 5

    Make them brown and add tomatoes with all the spices

  6. 6

    Let stir until it spreads oil all around

  7. 7

    Add it to boiled dal and boil ready dal for 10 minutes to mix tadka properly

  8. 8

    Dal is ready garnish with coriander leaves or kasoori methi
