Ingredients

  • 1. Ponnankanni - 2 cups
  • 2. Onion - 1 big sliced
  • 3. Mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • 4. Cumin - 1/2 tsp
  • 5. Channa dal - 1 tbsp
  • 6. Urad dal - 1/2 tbsp
  • 7. Dry red chilli - 2 broken
  • 8. Curry leaves - few
  • 9.Hing - pinch
  • 10. Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
  • 11. Coconut grated - 3 tbsp
  • 12. Oil - 2 tsp

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash the leaf and keep aside. Slice the onion thinly and keep aside.

  2. 2

    Heat oil in kadai add mustard, cumin, channa dal and urad dal. Once both dals roasted add broken red chilli and curry leaves.

  3. 3

    Now add sliced onion and saute until onion turns brown. Now add hing and turmeric.

  4. 4

    Add ponnankanni leaf and salt. Close with lid and cook in medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes. Don't add water.

  5. 5

    When you are ready to switch off the flame add grated coconut and mix. Serve hot with sambar rice..
