Cut large onion in half. Rough cut half of the onion. Evenly lay the onion pieces on the bottom of the crock pot.

Poke 4 holes, evenly spaced, in the pork. Put the each of the cloves in each of the 4 holes in the pork. Place pork on top of onion pieces in crock pot.

Rough cut the other half of the large onion. Evenly spread onion pieces on top of the pork.

Season pork with garlic, BBQ rub and any other spices.

Pour apple juice and beers over pork until pork is submerged.

Turn crock pot on low for 8-12 hours.

Pour out liquids from crock pot. Throw out the onion. Put pork on a cutting board to cool. Clean crock pot.

Find and remove cloves from pork. Shred pork.

Mix shredded pork with BBQ sauce to desired consistency. If BBQ sauce is thick, mix with water prior to mixing with pork to prevent drying out the pork.

Dice small onion. Mix onion with pork to taste.

Turn crock pot to high for 1-3 hours, stirring occasionally.
