Vegan Cheese and Onion Vol au Vent Pies 🌱

These were born out of a need to defrost the freezer yesterday! I had bought the cases on a whim but didn’t really know what to do with them and they were the last thing I needed to use up. They turned out to be delicious, a very simple, quick to prepare picnic food.
I made cheese and onion and vegan cheese and onion. I don’t like waste so I put a little marmite on the spare pastry and made marmite puffs.
I know these are a bit simple but I was quite pleased with my creativity and so I thought I would share anyway!

  2. White onion
  3. Salt and pepper
  4. Frozen vol au vent cases (or bought or homemade puff pastry)

Steps

  1. 1

    Cook the pastry cases

    Chop the onion and grate the cheese. Combine and season

    Fill the cases with your cheese mixture and bake until the cheese bubbles.
