Most children love spaghetti and good way of getting more of their five a day into them is to hide veggies in the bolognaise sauce. You can pack loads in and help them eat the rainbow. Serve with a salad to really ramp up the goodness.

Most children love spaghetti and good way of getting more of their five a day into them is to hide veggies in the bolognaise sauce. You can pack loads in and help them eat the rainbow. Serve with a salad to really ramp up the goodness.

In a heavy cast iron pan gently fry the garlic for a minute in the olive oil then add the meat and brown.

Add the diced vegetables to the pan and fry gently for a couple of minutes.

Add the tomatoes, stock cube and herbs and mixed thoroughy. Add an extra can of water.

Simmer on the hob or in the oven (160) for about 1 and a half hours.

Serve with spaghetti and grated parmesan.
