Steps
- 1
Wash palmnuts. Boil until well cooked. Pound nuts in mortar to get palm paste.
- 2
Wash a sauce pan big enoughbto contain soup. Wash salmon, and break the head off. You can choose to add the head. Put washed salmon into pan. Wash the Herrings and tuna too. Put them into the sauce pan. Add already cooked meat to it if you choose. Wash about 5 fresh tomatoes. Wash about 3 or 4 garden eggs(optional).Wash about 2 or 3 onions. Cut the roots and remove the scaly leaves. Add tomatoes, garden eggs and onions to the pan.
- 3
If you prefer powdered pepper, add some to the content of the pan. Or you can use fresh pepper like I did. Wash a good amount of fresh pepper. Wash garlic and ginger too. Scrape the covering. Blend or grind using earthen ware bowl. Add the paste to the pan. Add salt.
- 4
Add about half a glass of water to the content of the pan. Put on fire to steam.
- 5
Fill another sauce pan with water and leave to boil.
- 6
After water is hot enough, take it of fire and pour some into the palm paste.
- 7
Mix the paste with the hot water until paste becomes juice. Then extract the palm chaff by squeezing palm juice out of it. Extract the palm kennel too. Then seive till you extract all the residue. Add the palm juice to the steaming content of the first pan.
- 8
Let it boil till oil appears on the top.
- 9
Take out the tomatoes, garden eggs(optional)and onions from the soup on fire. Blend or grind in earthen ware bowl to get a paste.
- 10
Add paste to soup on fire and leave to boil for about 10 minutes. Your soup is now ready. You can enjoy it only or with rice, boiled yam or rice balls.
