Cut the butter into smaller pieces and place it on the pan over medium heat and let it melt.

With a spoon or ladle gently skim the dairy solids off the top and discard

Once you remove the majority of the milk solids, strain the butter through cheesecloth into a storage jar. Allow butter to cool before storing.

Clarified butter can be stored in fridge or at room temperature for up to 1 month.
