Zebra Cake (Eggless)

Zebra Cake (Eggless)
Steps
- 1
In a bowl mix together the flour (maida), baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- 2
In another bowl cream the butter and sugar together (with the help of a blender) until light and fluffy. Add milk, vanilla essence and mix well. Then add the flour- mix to the liquid and mix it properly.
- 3
Take half of the batter into an empty bowl. Add cocoa powder into it and whisk. The other half batter should remain as it is.
- 4
Next thoroughly grease and dust a round baking pan. Drop a large spoon of plain batter on the center of the pan. Top with a spoonful of the cocoa-mixed batter. Alternate spoonfuls on top of each other until all the batter is used up. Give the pan a shake to level it all out.
- 5
Now make the strips or designs on the cake batter up to your choice with the help of a toothpick.
- 6
Preheat the oven to 180° C. Place the baking pan in the oven and bake for around 30-35 minutes or until the cake is baked through. To taste for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, it is done.
- 7
Remove from the oven and allow the cake to cool down.
- 8
Cut the cake into pieces and serve with tea or coffee.
