Ingredients

  1. 1 cupbesan (gram flour)
  2. 1,1/2 cup sugar
  3. 1, 1/2 cup desi ghee
  4. 1/2 cupoil
  5. pinchsalt
  6. pinchbaking powder (optional)
  7. 3/4 cupwater

Cooking Instructions

    First take besan in the bowl, add 2 tbsp of oil/ghee mix nicely and sieve.

    Now heat a thick bottomed vessel,add sugar and water, stir continuously till sugar dissolved completely and cook on medium heat until it reaches 1 string consistency.

    Next in a pan add ghee +oil to heat.

    Now slowly add besan to the sugar syrup,mix rapidly so that no lumps are formed.

    Then add ghee + oil mixture (ghee should be very hot and add spoonful at a time) stir continuously.it takes 8 to 10 mins.

    Cook the mixture until it becomes frothy and ghee separates or start to change it's colour.

    Immediately pour into the greased,deep pan and leave it for 10 mins.

    Make the marks to cut into squares or rectangles.let it set until firm.

    Delicious maysor pak is ready.
