Ingredients

  1. For boiling chana
  2. 1 bowlblack chickpeas
  3. 4 tspoil Cooking
  4. To tastesalt
  5. 1dal chini(cinnemom stick)
  6. For making tadka
  7. 2big tomatoes
  8. 2onion
  9. 6-8 Garlic pods
  10. 1 inchginger
  11. 2Green chilli
  12. 1 tspcumin seeds
  13. To tastesalt
  14. 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  15. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  16. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  17. 1/2 tspcoriander seeds powder

    Wash and Soak black chana for 4 hours.

    After 4 hours pressure cook chana till 7-8 minutes after first whistle. Switch off the flame and let pressure releases automatical. Check chana by pressing between your fingers if it's done.

    Wash, peel and chop onion, green chilli, ginger, garlic and tomato and grind in a mixer to a smooth paste.

    Now heat cooking oil in a karahi. Add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds and grinded paste and cook it on slow flame till it leaves the karahi. It may take 8-10 minutes. Now Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander seeds powder and mix well.

    Now pour this prepared masala in pressure cooker in which boiled chana is. Adjust the consistency of curry by adding water if needed. Now place the lid and pressure cook till 7-8 whistles and switch off the flame.

    Serve hot with chapatti, rice or puri.
