Ingredients

  1. 1/2 kgbeef (I used beef forequarter)
  2. 2 tbspcooking oil
  3. To tastesalt and pepper
  4. 6 clovesgarlic, crushed
  5. 1 tbspchilli powder
  6. 1 tbspground coriander seed
  7. 1 tbspground cumin seed
  8. 2bay leaves
  9. 2cinnamon sticks
  10. 1 tsppaprika
  11. 4 tbsplime juice
  12. 1 cupwhite wine
  13. 1 cupwater

Cooking Instructions

    Season beef generously with salt and pepper.

    In a medium pot, heat oil on medium heat and brown the beef on all sides, about eight minutes.

    Add all the dry spices, wine, water, and lime juice. Bring to a boil. Lower the heat to low and let simmer for 2–3 hours or until the meat is tender enough to shred.

    Shred the beef with two forks.

  5. 5

    Serve wrapped in a tortilla along with favourite taco/burrito fillings.

I browned mine then put it in the oven like you do with stew...I had to keep shooing the dog away from my kitchen 🤣
