I remember as a lad of about 10 or 11 visiting my Sister who lived in Holland and going to the local pancake house. I was amazed to see many various fillings to choose from. I always opted for the Ham & Cheese.
So it’s a little different from our pancake day, but tasty nevertheless.

Ingredients

4-5 minutes
2-3 servings
  1. 2large eggs
  2. 300 mlmilk
  3. 100 gramsflour
  4. Butter, for cooking
  5. Ham optional
  6. Cheese optional

Cooking Instructions

    In a large bowl, beat the egg until slightly foamy.
    Add the milk, whisking to combine. Add the flour, slowly, whisking as you add, until the batter is smooth.

    Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Add a little butter.
    Add some of the batter and swirl it around to coat the pan.

    If you are using added ingredients add them to the wet batter.

    Cook the pannekoek over medium heat until it is just getting dry on the top and releases from the pan.

    Flip the pannenkoek and cook for 1-2 minute on the second side, until lightly golden.
    Remove the pannenkoek from the frying pan and place on a warm plate.
