Souvlaki

Summer on a plate, this marinade works so well on chicken, pork , halloumi and mushrooms. With the lovely sunshine we’ve been getting I just had to do this delicious recipe, reminding my of Greek Holidays!
Leave to marinade for at least 30 mins but the longer the better!
This is a great bbq recipe!

Grilled Chicken Souvlaki on a stick (Kotopoulo Kalamaki) Grilled Chicken Souvlaki on a stick (Kotopoulo Kalamaki)
Hi, I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I have this great Chicken Souvlaki or Kalamaki recipe, which actually translates into Chicken on a stick. Hmm, anyway in Greece when you go to a Soulvaki Fast Food store, (I call it a fast food store because it’s all put together rather quickly), you can either order the usual Pork souvlaki with pita, or you can order (which I personally prefer), Pork or Chicken Kalamaki along with bread which has been dipped into lemon-oregano-salt-pepper sauce. YummmmmmyyyyWhat I usually do is leave the chicken in the marinade sauce overnight in the refrigerator. This makes the chicken tender and absorbs all the aromas from the ingredients that have been added into it. Foodzesty -
Greek Souvlaki & Tzatziki Sauce Greek Souvlaki & Tzatziki Sauce
This is my version of a recipe I saw on a cooking show in Canada. The word for "eatery" in Greek is "taverna." This sounds like "taberuna," in Japanese, which means "don't eat," so, it's an eating establishment where you can't eat? There are lots of "taverna" in Vancouver and they are very popular.Tzatziki is a versatile sauce that can be used for both meat and salad. Put chicken and salad topped with tzatziki in pita bread for a pita sandwich. I'm in love with this sauce. Recipe by LazyHata cookpad.japan -

Chicken Souvlaki with Vegetables and Quick Tzatziki Chicken Souvlaki with Vegetables and Quick Tzatziki
A favorite classic dish, especially in the summer, these chicken souvlaki skewers are very light, marinated in balsamic vinegar and just a little olive oil. They're perfect for grilling on the barbecue, but I usually make them on a grill pan. I’m also sharing a quick, lighter tzatziki recipe here, but of course, use your favorite recipe if you prefer. I like to serve them with salad or rice! Katerina StergiopoulouTranslated from Cookpad Greece -
California Farm Grilled Lamb Souvlaki California Farm Grilled Lamb Souvlaki
Years ago, two greek sailor friends started a restaurant from their basement apartment, served dinner up the stairs, outside. They didn’t speak enough english yet, so I made pictures of their dishes, with the name of the dish, ingredients and price, and we made a photo album as the menu for each table. I got to taste all their specialties, this is one of my favorites. Comes with home made tzatziki sauce, made from yoghurt, garlic, pickle and mint in five minutes. Serve with olives, pita bread and cold greek white wine, Retsina. Hobby Horseman -

Chicken Souvlaki or Chicken Gyro? Chicken Souvlaki or Chicken Gyro?
Saturday night and the usual question comes up... 'What are we going to eat?' ... 'I want souvlaki, should we order some?' 'No! We're not ordering, plus the prices have gone way up, and the local place uses so much oil it leaves everything greasy!' So, the chicken that was meant for pilaf turned into two delicious dishes instead! Kat-IzzyTranslated from Cookpad Greece -
