In my hometown,As a child ,I along with family used to go Kartik purnima boat festival...an occasion where,the culture celebrates it's son of the land going for business to several p like Java Sumatra selling it's rich cultural items n getting the remuneration amounting rise of glory...
So we go with a paper boat in our hand ...its being a memento or souvenir ...for our people in our past years..and we visit any river bank.before Dawn....n say our thanks...to the people who have made us rich n known everywhere in the world for our culture...While returning,we visit all mandir...and in many a mandir,we aur served bhog in hand in form of KHiTCHDA.But today I share Devi Dakshina Kali special bhog Dal khichdi

Ingredients

  1. 1 cupMoong dal
  2. 1 cupRice
  3. 2 tbspGhee
  4. 2Bayleaf
  5. 4Elaichi
  6. 1black Cardamom
  7. 4crushed black pepper
  8. 1 tspJeera
  9. 1/4 tsp Hing .make it solution by adding water
  10. 1 cupCoconut sredded
  11. 1 n 1/2tspJaggery
  12. 1/2 tsp.Haldi
  13. as per taste. salt

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Take a vessel with lid,now start with adding ghee in the container...
    Then add khada masala,including bay leaf...once aroma starts add washed rice n Dal,stir it till you feel oil coating there or you get a shiny texture...then add salt,haldi, coconut, Jaggery n Hing solution...
    Add water just 1 1/2 inch above rice n Dal...do it on slow cooking...once done...top it with ghee n sredds of coconut.
