Modak is Ganpati bappa 's favourite. Normally for sankashti chaturthi , maghi ganpati, bhadrapad chaturthi modak of different varieties are prepared as a prasad or naivedya. Today on account of sankashti chaturthi I made fried modak.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cupFor filling - grated coconut. (Shrifal)
  2. 1 cupjaggery
  3. 2 tspsugar
  4. 2 tspcardamom powder
  5. 3 cupFor outer cover - wheat flour
  6. 2 tspoil
  7. 1 pinchSalt

Cooking Instructions

    Take pan. Mix coconut, jaggery & sugarin the pan. Cook above mixture till jaggery melts and mix with coconut.

    Turn of the flame when mixture becomes slightly thick and juicy. Add cardamom powder. Mix it well.

    Take wheat flour add salt, oil and knead a dough. Then make balls and roll a puri. Then fill the coconut stuffing and press the sides of puri to make modak.

    Deep fry modak in oil. Serve modak with ghee.
