Ingredients

12 servings
  1. Cake
  2. 175 gself raising flour
  3. 300 ggolden caster sugar
  4. 1.5 tspbaking powder
  5. 50 gcocoa powder
  6. 3eggs
  7. 100 gbaking spread (Stork)
  8. 6 tbspsboiling water
  9. 2 tbspsmilk
  10. Filling
  11. 150 gdark chocolate
  12. 150 mldouble cream
  13. Jam
  14. Small bar white chocolate

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat oven to 180 degrees

    Gather ingredients

    Line or grease 2 x 20cm cake tins

  4. 4

    Mix the cocoa with boiling water until it forms a paste

  5. 5

    Add the eggs until mixed in with the cocoa paste

  6. 6

    Add the soft butter, then the sugar, flour, baking powder and milk. Then mix until smooth.

    Pour half into each cake tin.

    Bake for about 30 minutes then once cooled for about 15 mins, empty onto a cooking rack.

    For the filling (ganache): warm the cream until almost boiling then add the chocolate and stir until melted.

    Leave the ganache to cool for about 15 minutes in the fridge so it doesn’t slide off the cake

    Coat one sponge with jam and then cover with ganache

    Add the top sponge, add more jam and the rest of the ganache

  13. 13

    Grate white chocolate on top
