Pan-fried momos are so much easier and faster to make than the steamed ones
Plus the nice and crispy base has a lovely crunch that I absolutely love
Here I have made vegetarian momos with cabbage, onion and beans, but you can add whichever veggies you like and enjoy these pan-fried momos with some hot and spicy chutnies

Cooking Instructions

Combine all the ingredients and make a stiff dough. Keep it aside to rest while you work on the filling.

Start by finely chopping your veggies first.

In a pan, heat oil and add onion, beans and grated ginger. Sautee for a few mins.

Then add grated cabbage and cook for a few more mins on low heat. Make sure to not cook the cabbage or any of the vegetables.

Remove from heat and add salt, pepper and dry chilli paste. Chilli paste gives the dumplings a deeper flavour profile. You can even add Schezwan sauce.

Mix it all up and allow the filling to cool down. Adjust for salt, if needed.

Shape your dumplings in whichever way you like.

Now heat a good non-stick pan, brush with a little oil and then place the dumplings. Add 4/5 tbsp of water and cover with a lid for 8 mins. Remove the lid and your dumplings should be cooked and the base should be golden and crisp.

Serve the dumplings with your choice of dips.
