This is famous Indian breakfast. Like semolina upma, this is vermicelli upma, preparation is almost same. Very healthy option for breakfast. Added loads of vegetables to make it healthier. Here I have used homemade semolina vermicelli.

Ingredients

  1. 200 gmvermicelli
  2. 1onion
  3. 2carrots
  4. 1/2 cupgreen peas
  5. 7-8curry leaves
  6. 2-3green chillies
  7. as per tasteOil
  8. 1/2 tspmustard seeds
  9. 1 tspcumin
  10. 1lemon
  11. 1 tspsugar
  12. 1 tspturmeric powder
  13. 2 tspsalt or a per your taste
  14. 2 tbspchopped coriander leaves

Cooking Instructions

    First dry roast vermicelli for 4-5 min

    Now heat a pan

    Add oil

  4. 4

    Add mustard seeds in hot oil

  5. 5

    Add Cumin, green chillies, curry leaves

  6. 6

    Add chopped onion

  7. 7

    Saute for 1-2 min till it turns pinkish

  8. 8

    Add salt and turmeric powder

  9. 9

    Add green peas and finely chopped carrots

  10. 10

    Saute for 1-2min

    Add Vermicelli

    Mix well and saute in spices for 2min

    Sprinkle 3,4tbsp hot water

    Mix well, cover and cook for 2-3min on low flame

    Vermicelli will becomes soft

  16. 16

    Tip- don't add more water at a time otherwise it will become sticky.

    Add sugar, lemon juice

    Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves

  19. 19

    Vermicelli upma is ready to serve
