  1. For Frying the Okra:

  3. 250 gmsOkra
  4. For Making Dahi Bhindi:
  5. 2 tbspOil
  6. 1 tspCumin Seeds
  7. 1Bay Leaf
  8. 2Cardamom
  9. 1 tspKasuri Methi
  10. 1Large Onion (Finely Chopped)
  11. 1 tspGinger Garlic Paste
  12. 1 1/2 cupYogurt (Whisked)
  13. Salt to Taste
  14. Spice Powders:
  15. 1/4 tspTurmeric Powder
  16. 1 tspRed Chilli Powder
  17. 1 tspCoriander Powder
  18. 1/2 tspCumin Powder
  19. 1/2 tspKitchen King Masala
  20. For Garnish:
  21. 1/4 tspKitchen King Masala
  22. 2 tbspCoriander Leaves (Chopped)

Cooking Instructions

    Firstly, assemble all the ingredients required to make “Dahi Bhindi”. Wash and dry the okras well. Then cut away both the ends. If large, cut each into two. Finely chop the onions. Whisk the yogurt. Chop the coriander leaves.

    Heat oil in a kadai on medium flame. Add the okra and fry until the okra changes colour. Remove in a bowl and set it aside.

    In the same kadai, heat oil. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cardamom and kasuri methi and saute on low flame until it releases a good aroma.

    Add the finely chopped onions and saute for a minute or two. Add the ginger garlic paste and saute until the onions turn slightly golden brown. Add the spice powders mentioned above and saute on low flame until it releases a good aroma.

    Add the whisked yogurt and cook, stirring continuously, until the oil separates.

    Add the fried okra and salt and mix it well. Adjust the consistency, as desired.

    Cover and cook on low flame for 5 minutes.

    Add 1/4 teaspoon kitchen king masala and the chopped coriander leaves. Once again mix it well.

    Flavorful and Delicious Dahi Bhindi is ready. Serve it with roti, paratha, naan or rice.
