Moth Beans Ki Kadhi (Jodhpur Style)

Ingredients

45 min + soaking time
3-4 people
  1. 1/4 cupmoth beans overnight soaked
  2. 2-3 tbspghee
  3. 1/4 tsphing
  4. 1 tspjeera
  5. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  6. 1 tspred chili powder
  7. 2 tspcoriander powder
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 2-3 tbspbarley flour
  10. 1/4 cupdahi & make chass {add 2 cups water }
  11. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  12. 1/4 tspkachari powder (optional)

    Add ghee into a heated pan.

    Add hing and jeera and allow the jeera to crackle

    Then, add the soaked & nicely washed moth

    Stir well for about 2 minutes.

    Add turmeric powder chilli powder
    coriander powder & salt mix well

    Add ½ a cup of water and allow it to cook for 3-5 minutes.

    Remove 3-5 spoons of color from the top and keep it aside for later use.

    Take a bowl add chass & barley flour & whisk nicely so no lumps & put garam masala & kachri powder stir it again & pour into pan

    Cook 15-20 min on medium flame 🔥 if it’s thick add little water boil it & check the seasoning & correct it

    Transfer it into a serving bowl.

    Pour the color as a garnish.you can see in pic

    Enjoy with phulka, rice, jaddi roti / batiya

    Note …

    Moth soaked overnight or for 6-8 hrs
    You can boiled & make kadi. In Jodhpur we directly cook as mentioned in recipe

    You can make chawala{ black eye bean } Moth or all 3 mix with same method

    Sometimes we make with any gluten free flour instead of Besan & mix with water no yogurt ; in that we add little amachur powder also
