Crock Pot Honey Sesame Chicken

This recipe to be super good and really easy. Found on Pinterest but easier to follow on this app since the phone won't shut down every few minutes. I doubled the recipe for company, however, the basic recipe will feed four hungry people easy. The meat was tender with an oriental taste. Hope you enjoy as much as we did! ~(o.o)~

Ingredients

  1. Crock Pot Chicken
  2. 6boneless, skinless chicken thighs or 4 breasts (2 lbs)
  3. 1 dashsalt and pepper to taste
  4. 2 clovegarlic minced
  5. 1 cuphoney
  6. 1/4 cupketchup
  7. 1/2 cuplow sodium soy sauce
  8. 1/2 cupdiced onion
  9. 2 tbspvegetable oil or olive oil
  10. 1/4 tspred pepper flakes
  11. 4 tspcornstarch
  12. 1/3 cupwater
  13. 2 packagesinstant rice (optional)
  14. 1/2 tbspsesame seeds (or more)
  15. 3 largegreen onions or scallions

Cooking Instructions

    Place chicken in crock pot and lightly season both sides with salt and pepper

    In medium bowl, combine onion, garlic, honey, ketchup, soy sauce, oil, and red pepper flakes. Pour over chicken. Cook on low 3-4 hours low or 2 hours on high.

    Remove chicken to cutting board, leaving sauce. Shred chicken into bite-size pieces. Set aside.

    Prepare rice according to instructions on package.

    In small bowl, dissolve 4 teaspoons cornstarch in 1/3 cup water and add to crock pot sauce. Stir in to combine with sauce. Cover and cook in crock pot on high for ten more minutes, or until slightly thickened.

    Add cooked rice to four plates, top with chicken and spoon sauce over the top. Sprinkle evenly with sesame seeds and green onions/scallions.
