Ingredients

  1. 2 cupall-purpose flour, sifted
  2. 1 1/4 cupsugar
  3. 1 tbspbaking powder
  4. 1 tspsalt
  5. 1/2 cupbutter, softened
  6. 1 cupmilk
  7. 1 tspvanilla extract
  8. 2eggs

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour one 8 in. baking pan and set aside. I used a square pan.

  2. 2

In a large bowl sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

  3. 3

Add butter, milk and vanilla. With mixer beat for two minutes, occasionally scraping down sides of bowl.

  4. 4

Add eggs and beat for two more minutes.

  5. 5

Pour batter into prepared pan(s), dividing equally if using two. Bake 30 to 35 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. Remove from oven.

  6. 6

Cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then turn out to cooling rack, cool completely.

  7. 7

Frost with your favorite frosting. I used the chocolate frosting on the back of the Hersey's cocoa can.

I have been looking for this recipe for months. Thank you. Do you have the fudge icing recipe as well?
