take your sliced sub roll and open it up you want it to open up (like a boat to hold the filling)...put three half slices of provolone in the roll ...with a slotted spoon ,scoop up the meat tapping to get rid of the the juices (juices can sog up bread and make it messy trying to eat) fill the roll with the meat mixture , you need to over stuff it abit on top because it will settle abit in the oven..place three half slices of american cheese on top(I use extra cheese)...after each sub u fill place on a cookie sheet and heat in oven set at 375° to melt the cheese and crust up bread abit

I've been looking at several different recipes for this dish and decided to create my own. I used the hot pepper jelly and sriracha to reinforce the pepper flavors. Then kicked it up a bit by using the smoked spices as well. supernanny -
Pepper steak Pepper steak
What's your earliest favourite food memory? Mine is pepper steak, specifically the old Chun King brand pepper steak. The stuff available now is basically a seasoning packet. Back in my day, Chun King came in a can, and already included everything (except for the beef, maybe, I'm not sure). Kind of like Campbell chunky soup. Anyway, I was crazy for the stuff, and hopped for joy whenever my mom pulled a can out for dinner. This recipe is my homage to that memory. I can't say for certain how close it is, because honestly I only vaguely remember how the stuff tasted. I mainly remember how much I loved it. The best part about this recreation was my daughter's reaction. She had three servings. So our family's love for pepper steak will live on. Robert Gonzal -

Steak Cubes with Garlic Shiso Miso Sauce Steak Cubes with Garlic Shiso Miso Sauce
This is one of my husband's favorite dishes, so we have it quite often -- especially in the summer, when there's lots of fresh shiso to pick.Cutting the meat into cubes helps shorten the cooking time and creates more surfaces for the sauce to coat.I used beef when I took these pictures, but economical pork shoulder or chicken (thigh, breast meat, or tenders) are delicious in this recipe too. Also, be sure to adjust the amount of sauce to the amount of meat you're using, so that it doesn't get too salty.Yields 1 to 2 servings.
