Ingredients

  1. 2 cupschopped lauki
  2. 1/4 cupchana dal
  3. 1onion, finely chopped
  4. 2tomatoes,finely chopped
  5. 1green chilli chopped
  6. 1/2 tspginger,finely chopped
  7. 3/4 tspcumin seeds
  8. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  9. 1/4 tspred chilli powder
  10. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  11. 1 pinchasafoetida
  12. 3/4 cupwater
  13. 2 tspoil
  14. 1 tspchopped corinder leaves
  15. 1/2 tspkitchen king masala
  16. 1/2 tspgarlic chopped(optional)

Cooking Instructions

    Rinse and soak the chana dal for atleast 45 minutes or 1 hour.

    Drain the chana dal and keep aside.

    Heat oil in a pressure cooker,crackle the cumin sedds first.

    Add onion,saute till they become translucent.

  5. 5

    Add the ginger,garlic and green chilies saute for 10-15 seconds.

    Now add the tomato and all dry spices powder,saute till tomato soften. Keep on stirring.

    The oil should start releasing from the onion-tomato masala

    Now add the chana dal a the stir,add the chopped lauki and salt.pour water and stir.

    Cover with the lid and pressure cook for about 4-5 whistles on high flame.

    If there us lots of liquid in sabji,then simmer without the lid to dry the liquid.

    Now add chopped corinder leaves.

    Lauki chana dal sabzi is ready serve with phulkas.
