An eggless teatime bake. Raspberry cake.Ready in few minutes.

Chocolate cake layers are filled with a delightful raspberry whipped cream and silky ganache. It's all draped in a rich chocolate glaze. Then to add some whimsy, it's decorated with polka dots.

July is the perfect month for berry picking in Canada. There are lots of local U-Picks that will allow you to come and pick berries at leisure and pay by the pound. I pick berries each year..... not because I like berries... I like the whole aspect of going with a group of friends and then picking to my heart's content while being devoured by bugs. Small price to pay for what's to come. By the time I get home I always realize I had picked too many for a household of two people! Then starts the search for berry recipes. This recipe is a simple raspberry cake that is moist, fluffy and buttery. It's perfect for afternoon tea or a little treat. The height of the cake is not too high but the taste is amazing. If you try it let me know what you think.BTW this recipe is versatile enough for any berry cake. Whether it's blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, etc. The same recipe can be made with frozen berries too. The baking time will be longer with frozen berries.

We were expecting guests today and thoughts were all over my mind about what to prepare. Finally one of the thoughts hit right and “Bingo”, I decided to make a Pista Orange cake. I had read it on the ocado.com site some time back and had always wanted to try it out. Started the preparation and added a lot of variations to the original recipe to experiment and make something different out of it.  Voilà, here it is, beautiful and delicious.

What this cake lacks in looks, it more than makes up for in taste. Seriously, I've never failed with this recipe. A complete compliment magnet, this one is.While I've used a lemon syrup here, the cake is equally delightful with passion fruit syrup, orange syrup and pineapple syrup. Just be weary of grapefruit syrup, it can turn the cake bitter.

It's a beautiful and tasty vanilla cake with different layers colored with vibgyor colours. Also you don't need six different cake pans to cook this cake.....

I realised that I don't blog a lot of sweet stuff, its always savoury, so couple of weeks ago when I was menu planning I decided to make this pudding for the blog. K and I had eaten this at someone's house a while ago, and he loved it that he went in for a second serving, so I didn't think twice about making it.  I knew it would be a hit as long as it turned out right and I was so glad it did!Its been getting colder and colder here in New Zealand and warm desserts are just perfect for a chilly day :)  K and I enjoyed every bit of it and we did not share it with the two year old ... Its not an extremly sweet dessert so if you don't like much sugar, this will be perfectIf you try this out, let me know!
