Ingredients

  1. 1 cupwheat flour
  2. 3/4 cupjaggery syrup
  3. 1/2 cupgrated coconut
  4. 2ripe bananas chopped
  5. 3 tbspghee
  6. 15-20Cashews roasted
  7. 2 tbspcardamom powder
  8. 1 pinchsalt
  9. 1 pinchcumin seeds(optional)
  10. 1/2 cupwater

    In a frying pan, add 2 tbsps ghee and roast the cashews. Once roasted, take out the cashews and keep it aside. In the same pan, add the chopped bananas and roast it till the bananas get cooked. Add coconut and mix well till it gets combined with the bananas. Add few crushed roasted cashews.

    In a mixing bowl, add wheat flour, a pinch of salt and add the jaggery syrup little by little to form a batter. If it is thick, then add water to make it little thin. The batter consistency should be slightly thick.

    Into this batter, add the banana mixture and mix well. Add cumin seeds and cardamom powder too. Grease the baking tin with ghee and place the butter paper. Pour this into a baking tin and decorate withe the remaining cashews. Steam cook it for 15-20 minutes. Banana kinnathappam is ready!!! Slice and serve it.
