Ingredients

  1. 2 tbspghee
  2. 1 tspCumin Seeds
  3. 1 inchcinnamon
  4. 4cloves
  5. 3 podscardamom
  6. 1bay leaf
  7. 1onion sliced
  8. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  9. 1 tspginger garlic paste
  10. 2chilli slit(optional)
  11. 2 cupsrice soaked for 15-20 minutes
  12. 1.5 cupspeas
  13. 2 tbspcoriander finely chopped
  14. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  15. to tastesalt
  16. 4 cupswater

Cooking Instructions

    Take a pressure cooker, heat 2 tbsp ghee and saute.

  2. 2

    When it crackles add whole masala - cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, bay leaf and stir.

    Now add chopped onion followed by ginger garlic paste and chilli.
    Now add peas and saute for 2-3 minutes.

    Add soaked basmati rice (without water)and saute gently.

  5. 5

    Now add 4 cups of water
    Stir gently

  6. 6

    Keep it on high flame and give one whistle
    Switch off the gas and let the pressure release on its own

    Open the lid and serve hot pulav with raita
